Writing Retreat 2.0 on the "Magic Mountain"
What’s the best way to begin? What are the most important criteria for an academic text? How do I formulate an appropriate research question? What do I need to cite and how do I do it? These are just some of the questions discussed and, as the main focus was on actually writing, they were directly put into practice. After everyone had set themselves a goal, many of the students were in the “writing zone” and wrote into the evening hours.
Students received feedback and tips from their peers as well as from the writing coaches: One comment from the group: “The regular feedback and individual coaching were super.”
On the last day everyone revisited the goals they had set themselves on the first day and were pleasantly surprised to see that they had either reached these goals or taken a significant step in the right direction: “Never thought I could write this much in just two days. A very productive writing retreat!” said one satisfied student in the closing plenary.
Just as last year, at the end of the retreat everyone agreed that writing in a group was a rewarding experience and that the Writing Retreat should take place regularly.
„A lovely location where you can really concentrate on writing.”
so the comment from one of the students who attended the Writing Retreat
