Call Teaching Award 2024

Background:

Every two years, Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg awards the Teaching Prize for outstanding achievements in teaching. The award is presented at the Day of Teaching. The aim of the teaching award is to promote good teaching at the higher education institution and make it visible, especially

• to communicate and show good ideas and best practices
• to provide inspiration for all teachers to question and discuss their own teaching formats
• to increase the importance of the topic of teaching at higher education institutions

The patron is Prof. Dr Marco Winzker, Vice President of Studies, Teaching and Digitisation.

Application:

We want to offer our students a holistic and interdisciplinary educational experience that helps them understand the complexity of the modern world and prepare them for the challenges of the future.

With this in mind, we are looking for your innovative and interdisciplinary teaching concepts to strengthen the personal development and interdisciplinary skills of tomorrow's students and graduates. With the call for the Teaching Award 2024, you have the opportunity to receive funding to redesign or further develop your course and thus establish and anchor the reference to central future topics and challenges in your courses. We look forward to your contributions!

Criteria:

We look at novelty, quality and impact. This relates to the content of the teaching, the method and the materials/media/technologies used. In terms of impact, we focus on the transferability to other teaching units/courses (at H-BRS or other higher education institutions), the quality of the teaching and learning process, the teaching of subject-specific and interdisciplinary skills, the impact at H-BRS, the external impact and the outcome for the students.

Selection committee:

The selection of entries and the teaching award is made by a jury appointed by the Vice President Teaching, Learning and Digital Transformation, which also includes students and external experts

Prize money:

The prize money of 5,000 euros is to be used for teaching purposes (teaching development, teaching quality, teaching improvement) at the H-BRS at the discretion of the prize winner.

Award ceremony:

The award ceremony will take place as part of the Day of Teaching event on Wednesday, 27. November 2024

Delivery and submission deadline:

Please upload your teaching concept for the teaching award as a PDF document of 3 to a maximum of 4 pages by 31 October 2024 and add your details to the table (see "Submit teaching concept" below).

The individual entries can only be seen by the submitter, the selection committee and the administrators. We wish you every success!
