Large number of visitors at the study information day in Rheinbach

An unusual sight for a Saturday morning: from 9.30 a.m., the campus in Rheinbach filled up noticeably. Many prospective students, often accompanied by their parents, had made their way to get to know the university and its study programmes. Larger groups went straight to the guided tours of the Department of Natural Sciences and were shown laboratories and working techniques. The lectures, which gave an insight into the various Bachelor's degree programmes, were also well attended. Seats were scarce in some rooms.

The total number of consultations at the advice stands and participants in lectures and guided tours at the Study Information Day in Rheinbach 2024 almost doubled compared to the previous year's event. This puts participation at a similar level to 2019, i.e. before the pandemic and flood disaster that severely damaged the Rheinbach campus in 2021. For the first time, the H-BRS presented the full range of Bachelor's degree programmes at a Rheinbach study information day, including those offered in Sankt Augustin and Hennef. The concept was well received,  a survey of participants showed a high level of satisfaction. 90% of the feedback rated the event as good or very good.

According to the survey, more than half of the visitors are planning to start their studies in the next winter semester. The study information day provided them with the right overview shortly after the start of the application period for Bachelor's degree programmes with restricted admissions, which runs until 15 July 2024.
