It's a DEAL: Read and publish in Elsevier journals

Negotiations on a Germany-wide license agreement between the DEAL consortium and Elsevier have been on hold since the end of 2018. An agreement has now been reached as of 01.09.2023, which includes both rights of use and publication options. Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences is participating in this agreement via the library.

Access to Elsevier journal articles

The DEAL agreement includes access rights for H-BRS members to almost the entire Elsevier journal portfolio including Cell Press and The Lancet. The journal articles on the ScienceDirect publishing platform can be used within the university network and via the library's remote access.

Publication options

H-BRS authors whose articles are accepted in Elsevier Fully Gold Open Access journals after 01.09.2023 will receive a 20% discount on the Article Processing Charges (APC) list prices.
For articles in Fully Gold Cell Press and The Lancet journals, the discount is 15%.

A flat fee applies for publications in Elsevier Core Hybrid journals and hybrid journals of the Cell Press and The Lancet brands.
