Study-Preparatory German Courses for Refugees

Study preparation measures are offered for people who are willing and qualified to study. In addition to counselling on study orientation and further development, refugee students are supported in improving their language skills.

German intensive courses


Upcoming courses (summer semester 2025):

 

Bridging-course German B2 (with passed B1 certificate)

  • Start: January 27, 2025
  • Duration: until February 28, 2025
  • Scope: Monday to Friday 9:00-13:30 
  • Costs: Participation in the course is free of charge.
  • Registration deadline: 31.12.2024
  • Registration also possible without a refugee background via refugees@h-brs.de The required documents can be found below on our website.

 

Bridging-course German B2+ (with passed B2 certificate)

  • Start: February 03, 2025
  • Duration: until March 03, 2025
  • Scope: Monday to Friday 9:00-13:30 
  • Costs: Participation in the course is free of charge.
  • Registration deadline: 31.12.2024
  • Registration also possible without a refugee background via refugees@h-brs.de The required documents can be found below on our website.

 

Intensive study-preparatory B2.1 German course

  • Start: March 31, 2025
  • Duration: Classes until July 31, 2025
  • Duration: 24h/week
    • Lessons on 5 mornings and 1 afternoon 
    • 5 weekdays presence in Sankt Augustin
  • Costs: Free of charge for refugees without student status
  • Application: Between November 15, 2024 and January 31, 2025 or until all places are filled. If the number of applications exceeds the number of places on the course, further applications may be rejected before the end of the application period. There is no legal entitlement to a place on the course.

Intensive study-preparatory C1 German course

  • Start: March 31, 2025
  • Duration: Classes until July 18, 2025
    • Exam date Digital TestDaF on August 7, 2025, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule to be announced 
  • Scope: 24h/week
    • Lessons on 5 mornings and 1 afternoon 
    • 4 weekdays attendance in Sankt Augustin, 1 day online
  • Costs: Free of charge for refugees without student status
  • Application: Between November 15, 2024 and January 31, 2025 or until all places are filled. Requirements

  • You have studied before/ received the university entrance qualification (HZB)
  • You are a refugee
  • You live in the Rhine-Sieg or Bonn region and can attend the courses.
  • You are interested in a study program at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences
  • You have already reached the required German level for the course (B1 or B2)

Registration

Documents to be submitted (by mail):

  • Application form
  • CV
  • Proof of academic achievements/ university entrance qualification (HZB)
  • Registration certificate/residence permit
  • Identity card/ID
  • Proof of required German language level
