SaSeRos Shows Robots in Action

Tuesday 26 August 2014

80 students from five European universities have been dealing with the topic of user-safe systems based on OpenSource software, using robots as models. The Department of Computer Science as well as the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Journalism are involved in this international “Intensive Programme (IP) SaSeRoS - Safe and Secure Robots based on Open Source Software”.

In ten teams, the students have been programming Lego Mindstorm Robots according to given requirements. To round the project off, the teams are going to present their findings, which will then form the basis of determining the winner of the contest. Anyone who is interested is welcome to watch the event and take part in the award ceremony in Lecture Hall 3 (Sankt Augustin campus) tomorrow (Friday) from 8.30 to 10.00.

SaSeRos is funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus Programme for Lifelong Learning. This year’s participants come from the following universities: Metropolia (Espoo/Finland), HiST (Trondheim/Norway), HvA (Amsterdam/Netherlands) and UPV (Valencia/Spain).
