New Master's degree programme "Digital Communication and Media Innovation"
The degree programme optimally prepares journalists and communication talents for the dynamic challenges in the media and communication industry. Enrolment is now open.
New skills in demand
"In recent years, the media landscape has changed massively due to digitalisation and the increasing use of artificial intelligence. New products and formats are constantly being created, opening up completely new ways of presenting information and reaching your target audience," says Professor Dr Tanja Köhler, who heads the new degree programme. "In addition to the traditional tools of the trade, all of this requires new skills, for example in format development, digital storytelling and prompt engineering. Our new Master's degree programme imparts this knowledge and at the same time enables students to put it into practice."
Degree programme offers a combination of theory and practice
The new degree programme offers a combination of theory and practice. Students acquire skills in the areas of digital journalism, digital communication, digital leadership, media aesthetics, format development and media innovation. They learn how to develop and produce media and journalistic products and formats both from a technical and analytical perspective and from a practical and application-oriented point of view. Intercultural, creative and technical skills are also taught in order to design innovative media formats. The seminars also promote an in-depth understanding of the content-related, technological and strategic aspects of digitality.
The university's own TV and radio studios
H-BRS has its own TV and radio studios with state-of-the-art technical equipment for professional audio and video productions. There is also a newsroom and a print editorial department.
