What is the H-BRS?
H-BRS is the abbreviation for Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg.
The university has three locations. Sankt Augustin, Rheinbach and Hennef.


At the university you can:
- study
You can study many subjects at the university. You can get a degree. This helps you in your professional life.
There are 40 different degree programmes. These include Bachelor's degree programmes and Master's programmes.
- research
The university is active in more than 60 research fields. There are 17 research institutes.
- work
The university has many employees. Students can also work here. They are called student assistants, for example.
- doing an apprenticeship
The university offers various apprenticeships:
- Biology laboratory technician
- Chemical laboratory technician
- Specialist for media and information services
- IT specialist Specialising in system integration
- Office management assistant
- do a doctorate
Our university has a special feature. You can do your doctorate here. This is normally only possible at universities.


Studying at H-BRS means:
- Practical relevance
Our degree programmes are practice-oriented. This means there are not only lectures. There are also many practical courses. There you can apply what you have learnt yourself.
There are also many student activities. Students who have similar interests meet up there. They try out lots of things together.
- Sustainability
Sustainability is very important to us. Some degree programmes focus on sustainability.
The campus is also designed with sustainability in mind. For example, there is a campus garden. Or a charging station for electric cars.
- Diversity
Diversity is very important to us. Everyone is welcome here.
We also welcome students from other countries. H-BRS has many partner universities abroad. You can study there for a semester abroad. But the reverse is also true: many international students come to Germany for a semester. They spend their international semester at H-BRS.


Library and study rooms
The university has a large library. There are books, computers and quiet study rooms. The library is a good place to study. Alone or in groups.


Leisure and culture
You can do more than just study at the university. There are many leisure activities on offer. For example, sports courses. So you can make new friends and have fun.


Transport links
The university is easy to reach. Buses and trams stop nearby. There are car parks for bicycles and cars.
Accessibility
The university is barrier-free. This means that everyone can participate everywhere. There are no barriers. Perhaps someone has a physical disability. And can't climb stairs. Then there is a lift for that person.
