Kenneth Kent receives UNB's -Award for Excellence in Research

University of New Brunswick in Canada honours Prof. B. Kenneth Kent, Honorary Professor at H-BRS in the Department of Computer Science, for his outstanding achievements in research.

On 16 May, Kenneth Kent was awarded the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Award for Excellence in Research. The award was presented to him personally by UNB President Paul Mazerolle (President of UNB) and David MaGee (Vice-President of UNB) at a ceremony. The award was established by UNB to recognise outstanding achievements in research, science or creativity.

Kent conducts research in the field of computer runtime technology and the computer-aided design of FPGA (field-programmable gate array) chips and has developed important practical applications in this context. Through his research and dedication, Kent has contributed significantly to the advancement of technologies that have received significant attention in both academia and industry.

In the Department of Computer Science, Kent teaches about operating systems and uses his knowledge to pass on valuable information to our students and the research teams at the Institute of Visual Computing.
