International Cyber Security Rumble (CSR) 2023 successful
630 international teams competed in the qualifying competition for the Cyber Security Rumble (CSR), including 37 student teams from the DACH region (Germany-Austria-Switzerland).
The CSR is a competition in the field of information security, based on Jeopardy CTF (Capture The Flag). Within 24 hours, the teams had to solve challenges from a variety of categories, e.g. crypto, network, reversing, web, mobile, pwning or forensics. In teams of a maximum of 6 people, the complex tasks from the difficulty level easy to very challenging were solved in the best possible way.
The winning teams of the CSR qualification competition are as follows
1st place Team polyflag (ETHZ & EPFL) from Switzerland with 7256 points,
2nd place Team KITCTF (KIT) from Germany with 7220 points and
3rd place Team ENOFLAG (TU Berlin) from Germany with 6628 points.
On the part of the H-BRS, the young teams NeatMALwareParty (17th place) and Team .-._._-.. (37th place) took part.
The first three international teams received a certificate and individually printed fragrance trees.
We congratulate all participants and thank the Orga-Team, which is made up of students, staff and alumni of the H-BRS, among others.
The final for the 8 best student teams will take place in Bonn from 28.09.23 to 30.09.2023.
In an exciting competition, the winning team of the Partner Challenges can secure an all-inclusive trip for 6 people to Las Vegas (flight tickets, accommodation with half board), including 6 tickets to the DEFCON conference 2024.
