The first week of the Intensive Programme SaSeRoS (Safe and Secure robots based on open source software) from the eighth to 19th April 2013 at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Espoo, Finland, lies behind the approximately 70 participants.

After the participants explored Helsinki during their first week after the work days, some of the students and lecturers went to the old Hanseatic city of Tallinn in Estonia with the ferry at the weekend. The participants had earned this trip by working hard during the week.

An excursion to the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in Tampere is on schedule for Monday, 15 April. At the VTT, a government agency comparable to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, R&D projects in the context of security were presented to the visitors. Visiting the city, the participants can also determine whether Tampere is up to its reputation as the "Manchester of the North".
