As part of the scholarship programme for high-performing MINT students (‘MINT TANK’), the Hans Riegel Foundation organises a congress every two years with an exciting and interdisciplinary programme. On 21 September 2024, H-BRS researchers Daryoush Vaziri, David Golchinfar and Alexander Marquardt gave a workshop at this congress in Brühl near Cologne on the topic of ‘From algorithm to virtual AI avatar - how generative AI and augmented realities are changing teaching and learning spaces’.

In this workshop, our experts from the departments of economics and computer science at H-BRS explained the many possible applications of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in conjunction with digital technologies such as virtual avatars. The participants had the opportunity to gain practical experience by trying out our virtual AI avatar for themselves. This showed how such technologies can be used in teaching to transform learning spaces.

The workshop was met with great interest and stimulated lively discussions. The curiosity of the participants led to an intensive exchange about the potential and challenges of these innovative technologies.
