Department of Computer Science
Alumnus Dr Martin Weier becomes professor
Dr Martin Weier's career highlights one of the professional opportunities that can arise from studying Computer Science at H-BRS.
After Weier successfully completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science (H-BRS), he was one of the first PhD scholarship holders at H-BRS. From 2012-2015, he was funded with a scholarship from the IVC and supported by Prof. Hinkenjann (H-BRS) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Philipp Slusallek (Saarland University, Intel VCI, DFKI, Saarbrücken) . Weier was able to defend his dissertation at Saarland University on 19 December 2019.
On 01.03.2023, Weier will take up his professorship with the denomination "Applied Computer Science with a focus on Visual Computing" at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. After more than 15 years as a research assistant and lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and the Institute for Visual Computing, he said goodbye to all his colleagues at the H-BRS on 23 February 2023.
We wish him a good start in his new tasks!
