Procedure of the study programme

Here you will find information about the study programme

In the foundation year (1st + 2nd semester), students learn mathematical and scientific fundamentals, basic knowledge of electrical engineering, measurement technology, computer science and materials science, basic knowledge of application-orientated engineering software and English.

In the following profile year (3rd + 4th semester), students take a specialisation, which is chosen in the 2nd semester. Parallel to this, there are modules in the subjects of electronics, control engineering and microprocessors as well as two practice-orientated projects (block weeks). In various interdisciplinary courses (electives), students acquire social, economic and methodological skills in an interdisciplinary manner.

The practical semester in a company (5th semester) is followed by the focus year (6th + 7th semesters), in which, in accordance with the specialisation, a foundation in technical-theoretical terms, a strengthening of application-related project work and the acquisition of further key qualifications are planned. The programme concludes with a practice-oriented Bachelor's thesis in the 7th semester and a colloquium, after which graduates are awarded the title ‘Bachelor of Engineering’ (BEng).
