Admission requirements for the master's degree programme Materials Science and Sustainability Methods
Materials Science and Sustainability Methods in a first professionally qualifying university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in a natural science or engineering degree programme with a minimum average grade of 2.5.
German language skills
German language skills at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. If you do not have a German-language secondary school or university degree, you must have the German language skills required for the degree programme through the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule or the DSH 2 (German Language Test for University Admission for Foreign Applicants) or through the TestDaF (Test for German as a Foreign Language) with level TDN 4 in all four examination areas.
English language skills
English language skills at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Applicants who have a German university entrance qualification fulfil English language proficiency at level B2. Other applicants who do not have an English-language university entrance qualification (e. g. English-language school leaving certificate) or an English-language degree must provide proof of the English language skills required for the degree programme by taking official tests such as TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic, Cambridge B2 or others.
Application deadline
Applications for this Master's degree programme can be submitted from 15 May to 15 September each year.

- University degree certificate including transcript of records (for foreign certificates with German or English translation);
- Transcript of records without university degree certificate, if the university degree is not yet available but will be obtained in this summer semester;
- the APS certificate if you obtained your university degree in China, Vietnam or India;
- Proof of sufficient German language skills (telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule or TestDaF with a result of 4.4.4.4 or DSH 2) if you obtained your university degree abroad.
- Proof of sufficient English language skills at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
