Operational safety, environmental and health protection
Environmental protection
We understand environmental protection to mean all measures that serve to protect the environment and preserve the natural basis of life for all living beings. Soil, water, climate and air protection are sub-areas of environmental protection. The protection of the environment also includes the protection of our living environment. Environmental protection is enshrined in Article 20a of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany as a state objective: "The state shall also protect the natural foundations of life and animals within the framework of the constitutional order through legislation and, in accordance with the law and justice, through executive power and jurisdiction."
The greatest current challenge in environmental protection is global warming, the steady rise in the average temperature of the atmosphere in recent decades.
Operational environmental protection
In the area of operational environmental protection, Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg is committed to environmentally friendly and sustainable operations. The requirements result from legislation such as the Waste Management Act, the Water and Wastewater Acts and other environmental legislation.
