Back Up of Research Data
Storing data alone is not enough. In addition, data should also be secured as a backup copy.
In this case, copies of the data should be stored at different locations. It is recommended to back up the data not only locally, but also on university servers. Local devices can be damaged or stolen. Servers, on the other hand, work with redundant systems and failures are easier to cope with.
Different backup strategies also exist, and it is not always possible to actually reset the data to a defined earlier state. In most cases, it should be possible to at least restore the last backup version.
