The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences is adapting its existing transfer instruments to the changing demands and needs of business, society and science and is developing new suitable transfer mechanisms. The project is funded by the federal-state initiative "Innovative University".

In this way, processes and decision-making channels are to be made more transparent and efficient. The overall goal of these new structures is to intensify strategic networking with business and society in the region in the long term, in order to interact even more closely and effectively with local partners. Campus to World is thus implementing a novel approach to realize the "Third Mission". The cooperation with regional, national and international partners from the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg region, as well as strategic partners with essential competencies from outside the region, complements and strengthens both the competencies and the regional impact of the university.

The central element of Campus to World is the "Innovation Mall": It stands for a physical as well as a virtual place of networking and exchange, which enables the transfer of knowledge and know-how out of the university as well as into it. The university bundles its transfer activities in this place. Similar to in a real mall, there is a central point of contact, the "information desk" to  guide visitors to the shortest way to the appropriate topic in a target-group-specific form. Besides, in showrooms, the specific kowledge transfer offers of H-BRS in the research focus areas of security, digitalization as well as sustainability and energy are showcased.

The university’s offers will be presented in such a way that the Innovation Mall visitors can explore them in a kind of "window shopping". The Innovation Mall will address citizens, i.e. interested laypersons, in addition to interested persons from business and civil society institutions. In addition to the stores, the Mall’s appeal is enhanced by meeting points for different target groups, offering spaces for founder coaching, innovation and funding advice and citizen labs, among others. The Innovation Mall combines the structures needed for the promotion and implementation of all transfer activities of the university.

The goals of Campus to World are implemented in cross-university sub-projects, each of which deals with different contents and facets of knowledge transfer, thus contributing to the achievement ofthe overall vision.
