Didactics experts from H-BRS at conference in San José
The theme of this year's FIE conference, which takes place in San José, California, from 3 to 6 October 2018, is the influence of diversity on innovation, which is typically regarded as extremely positive (Fostering Innovation Through Diversity).
Rothe, a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Journalism (EMT), and Cathleen Salega who is responsible for evaluation and academic controlling are presenting a paper entitled "An Approach to Assessing Learning Outcomes over Consecutive Courses in the Study Entry Phase" in the "First and Second Year Programs" session. They have authored the paper jointly with their colleague Prof. Marco Winzker from the EMT department.
In it the authors examine how the knowledge, skills and competences of students on the Bachelor's degree programme in Electrical Engineering develop over consecutive courses over a period of three semesters, how their development can be measured apart from examinations and which conclusions can be drawn in terms of the didactics of courses.
