2nd place for b-it bots @work at the German Open
Congratulations to our b-it bots @work team who came in second at the 2018 RoboCup German Open! The team did not only secure a place on the podium but they also received an award for being the best team in the Line Following Test and a prize for the highest score in the Arbitrary Surface Test. The results are indeed very promising so let's keep our fingers crossed that the team will be able to compete in this years' world cup in Canada.
During the competition the robot drives through an arena with various obstacles autonomously and has to deal with several challenges such as picking-up and delivering objects in the shortest time possible.
Our second team, the b-it bots @home, participated in Magdeburg as well. The team has however been through various changes in the last year - new leadership, the need to revamp the code base for improved reusability, and most importantly, the arrival of our new domestic robot Lucy only two months ago. Lucy was thus not ready for the whole competition and only took part in some of the first-round challenges, but the team is working hard to make sure that Lucy can soon keep pace with her robotic classmates.
