Montag, 11. November 2019

The consortium members of the BITTCOIN-JO project met from 23 to 26 September at the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. The aim was to establish technology transfer offices in the partner country Jordan, which will ideally benefit from the experience of the European partner institutions with already established technology transfer structures.

The BITTCOIN-JO project aims to set up independent technology transfer offices (TTOs) in the partner country Jordan to promote the transfer of knowledge from universities to industry.

According to a new model, not only the practical steps for setting up and operating these offices will be accompanied. In addition, the European partners offer innovation training in the fields of law, patenting, licensing and business administration for all university members (scientists, administrative staff and students).

Specific training will be provided in the EU partner institutions, as well as in Jordanian companies, to share the experience of European universities that already have sustainable TTOs.

At the project meeting in Sankt Augustin, Dr. Udo Scheuer, Vice President Regional Development, Transfer and Innovation, presented the success story of the Centre for Knowledge and Technology Transfer (ZWT). It became clear that from the idea in 1997 to the present status as a professional technology transfer centre more than 20 years had passed. Scheuer also discussed the success factors of the ZWT.

The coaching agency "Professional Start" conducted several interactive workshops to work out how these success factors could be transferred to Jordan.

Another workshop dealt with the commercialization of research results, business models for Jordan and the establishment of start-ups.
