Internship semester / stay abroad

During the practical semester, the theoretical knowledge acquired during the degree programme is applied in practice. The first ideas for the final thesis or specific career goals are often developed during the practical semester. The practical semester lasts at least 20 working weeks, often longer.

As part of the introductory event at the beginning of each semester, there is also an information event on the internship semester. More detailed information is also available in LEA under Study Information/Practical Semester.

Find an internship

In addition to the usual job portals, you will find exclusive adverts posted in the professors' offices. These are often sent directly to the faculty by the companies. Simply approach the professors about the vacancies, as there are often already contacts with the companies.

There are also job adverts for the internship semester on Stellenwerk, the official job portal of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. You can also search for jobs at the companies that take part in the annual Company Day.

Registration for the internship semester

Registration for an internship semester in Germany or abroad or for a semester abroad takes place via the student information system SIS. It is helpful for the department's timetable and room planning to know early on in which semester you would like to do your internship. Therefore, please let us know via SIS as soon as possible. You can then add the other input fields (job address, contract details) successively until the start of the internship semester.
