About Start-up-Manufaktur

As the first point of contact for people interested in starting a business, the Start-up-Manufaktur at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences offers a wide range of services in the form of advice, events and courses on the subject of starting a business. We want to awaken your entrepreneurial spirit and guide you through the process of transforming your idea into reality. Whether you study with us, work at H-BRS or are one of our alumni, our offers are free of charge.

Our services

Regardless of whether you already have your own start-up idea or not, we welcome you to join us: We introduce you to the topic of start-ups in information events and teach you relevant methods for finding ideas or knowledge that is necessary for the realisation of a business idea in special workshops. Our events are often also open to external participants. In courses, students can expand their expertise in specific areas.

Overview of our offers

Integration into the university and the start-up ecosystem

At the H-BRS there are various facilities, institutes and people who have a high level of competence in the area of supporting start-ups and those interested in founding in various areas. The Start-up-Manufaktur is in close exchange with these departments in order to refer founders to the right place in a targeted manner.

The CENTIM (Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and SMEs) promotes entrepreneurial thinking and action at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and is the initiator of the Start-up-Manufaktur. In addition to the research focus on entrepreneurship, the topics of innovation and SME management are also represented. The Competence Centre for Business Succession is also located at CENTIM.

The Institute for Social Innovation (ISI) is primarily concerned with the area of social entrepreneurship.

The Centre for Science and Technology Transfer (ZWT) takes care of the administrative side of funding applications.

Start-up ambassadors

We have start-up ambassadors at each of our departments. They are the link between the Start-up-Manufaktur and the departments and are there to serve as additional, decentralised contacts.

A strong network

Thanks to a strong network with the regional start-up scene, connections can also be made beyond the university. Our partners have practical experience and are experts in their field, for example in financing or digital. Others have founded companies themselves and can therefore provide first-hand reports and put themselves in the position of prospective founders.

Start-up Programme Rheinbach Sankt Augustin

The Start-up-Manufaktur is an initiative of CENTIM (Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and SMEs) and is financed through the SUPRA project (Start-up Programme Rheinbach Sankt Augustin). SUPRA aims to increase the interest in start-ups at the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg and to expand the number of successful start-ups from the university and in the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg region. The project is funded as part of the EXIST programme "Potentiale heben " of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
