Diversity at H-BRS
Fairtrade University H-BRS
The H-BRS has been designated as a Fairtrade University since May 2019. This award embeds itself in the university's guiding principle of facing up to social responsibility and sustainable development not only academically, but also internally in what the university and its employees can contribute as a whole.
This award offers not only teachers and researchers, but all students and staff the opportunity to actively work on this issue and promote the idea of fair trade.
Fairtrade Universities are universities throughout Germany that actively promote fair trade. The campaign was launched by TransFair e.V. and aims to promote awareness of fair trade and to anchor education for sustainable development in the university landscape.
How do we promote fair trade at the H-BRS?
- Fair trade products are sold in the catering on the Rheinbach and Sankt Augustin campuses.
- Fairtrade products are offered at meetings and official university events.
- A steering group made up of representatives from the student body, administration and catering is active.
- University-wide events on the topics of "fair trade" and "conscious consumption" are initiated. These take place in particular within the framework of "Respekt! Fair". Further information can be found via the following link button.
