Alexander Marquardt presents his paper at SIGGRAPH Asia 2022 in Daegu, South Korea
On 8 December 2022, Alexander Marquardt, researcher at the Institute of Visual Computing & Games Technology at H-BRS, presented his paper on "Multisensory Proximity and Transition Cues for Improving Target Awareness in Narrow Field of View Augmented Reality Displays" at SIGGRAPH ASIA 2022 in Daegu, South Korea.
SIGGRAPH Asia is one of the most important conferences for computer graphics. Marquardt's team collaborates with the Nara Institute of Science and Technology in Japan and was invited to present a paper at the conference due to the high quality of its research.
In addition to Alexander Marquardt, Christine Trepkowski, Tom David Eibich, Dr Jens Maiero and Prof. Dr Ernst Kruijff of H-BRS also contributed to the paper. Augmented reality applications enable users to enrich their real environment with additional digital content. Due to the limited field of view of augmented reality devices, it can sometimes be difficult to perceive newly emerging information inside or outside the field of view. The young research team is looking for solutions through multisensory proximity and transition cues to improve target perception in augmented reality displays with a narrow field of view.
