What is a guest lectureship like at our university? What challenges arise and, above all, what benefits? Prof. Kent reveals it in a short video.

Prof. Kent from the University of New Brunswick teaches this semester the english course "Operating Systems" for the Department of Computer Science at the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS).

Being attentive and curious is what he wants his students to learn in order to seize their opportunities and find their career paths. He loves his vocation, even though his dad had advised him against becoming a teacher.

The connection between our university and the Canadian professor has existed for more than 15 years. In the interview, he gives insights about how the connection to our univeristy started, how he found his own career path, where he sees cultural differences and what good teaching is about.

A big thank you to Ken and the colleagues from the videoLAB for the great support!

The aim of the guest lectureship, which is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), is to internationalize the university and strengthen the international dimension in teaching.
