H-BRS offers further financial support for researchers with the funding of golden open access publications by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft e.V.).

In 2022, a publication fund for researchers was successfully established at H-BRS. As of January 1, 2023, the H-BRS now also belongs to the group of universities that are funded by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft e.V.) program "Open Access Publication Costs". The DFG's funding line aims to promote open access publications as the "publication form of the future". Through free access to scientific articles and research results, knowledge becomes visible and accessible to a broad audience.

DFG funding supports the financing of so-called Article Processing Charges (APCs), which are incurred when golden Open Access articles are published. For articles submitted to publishers/journals by publishers at the H-BRS since January 1, 2023, a financial contribution of 700 euros to cover publication costs is possible.

Together with the publication fund of the H-BRS and the publication funding of the GI for doctoral students, up to three grants for open access publication costs can be claimed at the same time.

If you have any questions about scientific publications and how to apply, the library's Research Services team will be happy to advise you.

Further information and the required forms can be found on the Research Services web pages.
