The Human-Computer Interaction Lab at the University of New Brunswick contributes world-leading research in human-robot interaction, game design, serious games for health, and novel interactions in mixed reality. In this talk, we will survey recent research that has been conducted by HCI Lab co-directors, Scott Bateman and Daniel Rea. The broad goal of the HCI Lab is to improve the design and effectiveness of emerging technology to deepen the theory and understanding of interactive systems and to address problems that confront industries including health, manufacturing and entertainment. Our talk will present a wide range of research and findings, from why a robot deceiving you might be a good thing, to how video games can inform how software for learning and working could be better designed.
