University opening hours for Carnival 2024
In 2024, members of the university will once again have some time off during the fifth season of the year to cultivate customs. The university closes at 6 pm on Weiberfastnacht, the library is open until 6 pm. The adjoining buildings close at 2 pm, only the main building is open until 6 pm. The university remains closed on Shrove Monday.

Weiberfastnacht/Fat Thursday
The university will be closed from 18:00 on Thursday, 8 February 2024. University employees will have time off from 13:00, and from 14:00 only the main building with the library will be open. From 13:00, all telephone advisory services such as those offered by the Student Advice Centre, the Registrar's Office or the Language Centre will also be closed.

Rosenmontag/Shrove Monday
On Monday, 12 February 2024, the university, including the library, will be closed all day and there will be no telephone counselling.

Thursday, 8 February 2024 (Weiberfastnacht):
- Library Sankt Augustin Campus open from 08:00 to 18:00 (specialised staff until 13:00)
- Library Rheinbach Campus open from 08:30 to 18:00 (specialised staff until 13:00)
Saturday, 10 February 2024
- Libraries at Rheinbach Campus and Sankt Augustin Campus open from 10:00 to 19:00 (specialised staff until 15:00)
Sunday, 11 February and Monday, 12 February 2024
