Programme
The Spring School offers a variety of topics: Every day there is a professional impulse on the planned objective of the day as well as a method training with personal supervision. There is also plenty of time for research and individual or team work. In between, you will regularly present your results and progress and receive personal feedback from the trainers and the group.
Secure your spot now!
- You do not need to have your own business idea to participate in the Start-up Spring School!
- If you already have your own business idea and would like to work on it, simply contact us in advance.
Day 1: Problem Definition and Idea Generation through Design Thinking
Start-ups can contribute to improving our society on an economic, social and ecological level. With this knowledge in mind, we will start the creative phase: We will show you how to systematically develop business ideas using various creative techniques. We will use design thinking methods and look for socially relevant problems for which we will then develop a solution in the following days.
Day 2: Defining solutions through design thinking
We deal with the description and definition of the problem. In individual and group work, you will carry out various research and, if necessary, conduct initial user or customer interviews.
Based on this problem analysis, you will develop one or more solutions, visualise them and obtain feedback directly from the user or potential customer. We explain to you the Problem Solution Fit, the Value Proposition Canvas and the Lean Start-up Mindset as methods for this.
Day 3: Working on the Business Model Canvas Part I
After the preliminary work of the first days, we now fill these into a business model canvas and visualise the first building blocks of the business model.
To ensure that the emerging business model can also survive on the market, we look at the aspects of innovation, types of innovation and unique position. These criteria are important for identifying the innovation potential and competitive advantages of your business ideas.
Day 3: Working on the Business Model Canvas Part II
Today we will finalise your business concepts. You will research important information again and discuss the results with your team.
We will then give you an overview of the regional ecosystem and introduce you to institutions that can support you in your start-up projects. In addition, our start-up advisors will provide you with a few tips on funding, and a start-up will share its start-up story with you and answer your questions about starting a business openly and honestly.
Day 5: Start-up storytelling, pitch training & final presentation
After you have developed a business concept in the first few days, the final task is to present it in the best possible way. For this purpose, you will receive impulses from us on the topic of storytelling and how a good pitch works.
After a pitch training session, all teams present their business concepts in a final presentation and receive personal feedback from trainers and the group.
Made it!
After an informative, exciting and perhaps also exhausting 5 days of work at the Start-up Spring School, you will not only have gained important business experience, but will of course also receive a certificate for your participation in this professional development.
The Start-up Spring School is a joint offer by Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (represented by Start-up-Manufaktur) and the University of Bonn (Transfer Center enaCom). All members of the two universities can register for the free offer (students, employees, alumni).
Please note that registration for the Start-up Spring School means participation in all five workshop days.
