Former H-BRS trainee Sura Tat has been recognized by the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) as the best in her profession. She was employed as a chemical laboratory assistant in the analytical and inorganic field in the Applied Natural Sciences department in Rheinbach until 31 August.

Together with her trainers Antje Thielen and Jutta von der Gönna, who were also honored by the IHK, she was delighted with her success at the award ceremony at the GOP Varieté-Theater Bonn: “At the university, I was always given the feeling that I was on an equal footing with my colleagues. Everyone went out of their way to give me a deep insight into all areas of work,” said Sura Tat.

This has paid off. After successfully completing her training, the former trainee found a job in the chemical industry straight away. This is not unusual, said Antje Thielen, who has been training laboratory technicians at H-BRS since 2006: “Almost all of our trainees find a job very quickly, whether in laboratories in the public sector or in industry.”

The university offers several training positions for laboratory technicians in the Faculty of Applied Natural Sciences every year. The application phase starts in January for the start of training on 1 August 2023.
